My first visit to Fellowship Greenville was the week after my wife had passed away after battling a long illness. I’ll never forget the kindness and compassion shown to me on that first visit to the church and this day. After the service ended, the worship team announced that there would be someone there to pray for anyone in need. I went forward and met with a care pastor who listened to my story, and after praying for me, he told me that I could sign up for the Grief Share program. He also mentioned the Stephen Ministry program as both are part of the Care Ministry. I was assigned a Stephen Minister who was faithful to meet with me once a week and to listen and pray for me. He helped me keep my focus on Jesus, and he was someone I soon came to trust.
Because of the care I received, I was inspired to be a Stephen Minister myself and have the privilege of serving alongside other ministers and leaders who share God's love with those who are going through a difficult time. If God is leading you to serve at Fellowship Greenville, please consider the Stephen Ministry and see how God works in our community caring for others. As John 15:12 states, “Love one another as I have loved you."
