“In today’s world of materialism, it is tiring to try to buy the latest and greatest thing. How many times have we finally gotten our hands on that thing that we had to have, and it hasn’t truly satisfied us? In my own life, God is teaching me to be content with everything I have. Paul writes in Philippians 4:11-13 that he has learned the secret to contentment. When I served in second grade Sunday school, my favorite definition of contentment says this: contentment is deciding to be okay with what you have.
Contentment isn’t just a fleeting emotion or a feeling. Contentment is the decision to celebrate and give thanks to God for everything in your life. Every day God is teaching me to be content with the many blessings He has given me. When I chose to be content, I am sustained and soothed by the knowledge that God will always provide for my needs no matter what.” - Kyle J.
