"God has taught me that prayer & faith is very important to him.
I have been involved with Operation Christmas Child on a small scale for about 12 years. First, my stepson in cub scouts and my small group donated 45 shoeboxes last year. I had always heard from the folks at Samaritan’s Purse to pray over your shoeboxes & for the people & ministry involved. I thought to myself, 'That sounds good, but do we really need to do all that praying to make this work.' But, when we decided to introduce this to the ministry & leadership at Fellowship Greenville I knew there was no way I could do this on my own. I would need God’s help to pull this off. I already had a great, dedicated community group to help. God answered prayer after prayer when I ran into roadblocks. He moved the roadblocks for me, which in turn lead to my faith in him growing by leaps & bounds. I found out firsthand that if your heart is into something & it honors him he will make it happen. Philippians 4:13 says, 'Through God all things are possible.' I believe that.
I had never led a project like this before. God instilled confidence in me that I could do this. I also was introduced to some very caring Christian people in our church, outside of our small group, who were willing to help; I think God sent them to me to help build my confidence, as well. I can’t wait to see what the next project is God has in store for me." - James B.
