"In our life when things seem to change every single day, God seems to continue to stay constant. I may not hear from him daily, monthly, or even yearly, but he always seems to appear when the time is right. Selfishly, I want him to appear when I need him the most, but this isn’t always the case. Over the years I have had career changes, two amazing little boys, mourned death, celebrated life, and continue to celebrate my successes and learn from my failures. God had given me so many opportunities in the past few years to stay constant in my faith through Fellowship Greenville's Sunday service, community group, family, and my relationships built through Christ. It seems the more I continue to build relationships through these opportunities, I have more of an understanding of his constant love, grace, and mercy he continues to show me.
A few years ago, when I was longing for some much-needed guidance from God, I walked into a coffee shop. That day I ordered coffee, ate breakfast, and had a conversation with an amazing Christian woman about my anxiety in my ever-changing life. When I received my coffee that day, this bible verse was on the side of my coffee cup: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.“ Jeremiah 29:11
That day was a day I will never forget. I even took a picture of the coffee cup, because, for the first time in a LONG time, I felt God’s presence saying to me-- find me, need me, love me, and your heart will continue to be filled with my love and grace. Since that day, our family joined Fellowship Greenville, we are active in a community group, our children are actively seeking God and we have made numerous friendships through Christ. So as life continues to change and even my relationship with God may change, he has taught me that his presence continues to stay constant even when I think he is so far away." - Erin F.
