SERMON SCREENSHOTS & KEY POINTS

Scripture: John 1, Colossians 1, John 14

“No one has ever seen God.” John 1:18

“Long ago, God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son.” Hebrews 1:1-2

“No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” John 1:18

“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.” Colossians 1:15

“For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, 20 and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.” Colossians 1:19-20

  • Don’t lose sight of Jesus because Jesus is the One who makes the invisible God that you can’t see… seeable.
  • We struggle to continually see that with which we think we are familiar.

Come, Thou long expected Jesus

Born to set Thy people free;

From our fears and sins release us,

Let us find our rest in Thee.

Silent night! Holy night!

Son of God, love’s pure light

radiant beams from Thy holy face

with the dawn of redeeming grace

Joy to the world, the Lord is come

Let Earth receive her King

  • ”I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

“I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2

“Philip said, ‘Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.’ Jesus replied, ‘Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.’” John 14:8-10

  • “Christmas is telling us that we could never get to heaven on our own. God had to come to us.” Tim Keller
