Compassion Sunday

Jason Malone - 10/11/2026

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Our confidence that we belong to the Father does not rest on the strength of our compassion, but on the finished work of his Son.
  • We do not care for vulnerable children in order to become God’s children. We care for vulnerable children because, through Christ, we already are his children.
  • If you would like to participate, text the word “fellowship” to 83393 and you’ll receive a link to sponsor a child.

*We are a church located in Greenville, South Carolina. Our vision is to see God transform us into a community of grace passionately pursuing life and mission with Jesus.

SUGGESTIONS FOR COMMUNITY GROUP QUESTIONS

Remember, these are “suggested” questions. You do not have to go through every single one of them.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What does Paul’s adoption language communicate about our relationship with God?
  2. Why do you think Scripture repeatedly draws God’s people toward those who are vulnerable, overlooked, or without protection?
  3. How do we become indifferent to needs around us, even when we genuinely love Jesus?
  4. How do we think about the tension between caring for needs locally and caring for needs globally?
  5. When you think about your time, money, home, relationships, skills, or influence, which resource is hardest for you to make available to God?
  6. Where are vulnerable or overlooked people already present in the ordinary rhythms of your life, perhaps closer than you normally notice?
  7. How do you answer the question “Father, what part are You asking me to play?”
